Analyst One

What Analyst One is for

Analyst One turns a stack of source documents into something you can question. You add sources to a workflow, ask the agent, and every answer comes back with the page it came from.

What the product does

Analyst One reads the documents you give it and builds a searchable, cited corpus from them. It extracts the text and layout of every page, pulls out companies, people, metrics, dates and the relationships between them, and holds all of that so you can ask questions across the whole set. The output you care about is an answer with a citation you can open and check against the page. It is a reading and retrieval tool, not a data feed and not a model. It knows what is in your sources and very little else.

The shape of a workflow

A workflow is the unit of work. It scopes the sources, chat sessions and deliverables you use together, and it is the boundary of every search.

  • Overview — the workflow’s overview, with recent sources, recent deliverables and the agent’s running summary.
  • Sources — everything you have brought in. Open one for three tabs: Original, Extracted, Insights.
  • Chat Sessions — your conversations with the agent. Each question becomes a chat session you can return to.
  • Deliverables — what you take out: Notes, Sheets and Reports, each carrying its citations.
  • Activity — an append-only log of every extraction, generation and edit, newest first. This is where you look when something did not work.
  • Preferences — settings that belong to this workflow rather than to you.

A first pass, end to end

Create a workflow from Workflows → New workflow. Add sources with Add source in the sidebar, or by dropping files onto the window. Wait for each source to reach Ready — the footer shows a Processing count while work is outstanding. Then ask the agent in the composer at the bottom. Answers arrive with numbered citation chips; click one to see the supporting passage and the page it sits on.

Replaying the walkthrough

Analyst One shows a short tour once — Workflows, the Overview, the sidebar, Sources, Chat Sessions, the evidence behind an answer and Deliverables, on simulated data, in about two minutes — and it can be skipped in one click. To see it again, open Help & docs in the sidebar foot and choose Replay walkthrough. Show explainers again restores the one-time hints on each view’s first visit.

What is live in this build

This is v0.1.0. The retrieval and citation core is real and in daily use.

  • Importing PDFs, Word and PowerPoint files, spreadsheets, and plain text or Markdown, plus import from a URL.
  • Full-page OCR of every PDF page, including scanned and photographed documents.
  • Asking questions across a workflow, with numbered citations back to a page and the supporting passage.
  • A knowledge graph of entities and relationships per source, under a source’s Insights tab, with a dated Events view beside it.
  • Generating a workflow report, and per-source reports, as Deliverables.
  • Writing Notes and building Sheets by hand, and asking the agent to draft or amend them.
  • Exporting a source as Markdown, Markdown plus table CSVs, the original file, or tables as Excel; exporting a deliverable as Markdown, PDF or Word, and a Sheet as Excel.
  • Organisation workflows, where enabled for your organisation: stored on our servers, shared with every member, and available from any device.

What is not built yet

None of the following works in v0.1.0, whatever the surrounding interface suggests:

  • Inviting colleagues. There is no invite screen and no member management; organisation membership is arranged by Felix Research. Organisation workflows, where enabled, are shared with every member automatically. The Share action on individual items does nothing.
  • Workflow export and import. There is no way to export a whole workflow to a file or load one back in. Sources and deliverables export individually; where organisation storage is enabled, Publish copies a private workflow into a shared one.
  • Global search. The magnifying glass in the sidebar has no action behind it. Asking the agent is how you find things.
  • Folder or drive connections. The empty Sources screen mentions connecting a folder; no such feature exists.
  • Cross-device use of private workflows. A private workflow lives in one browser on one machine, and does not follow you. Organisation workflows do.

Where your work lives

This matters more than any other single fact about the current build. A workflow is either private — stored in the browser you are using, invisible to Felix Research, and lost if you clear site data or switch machines — or organisation — stored on servers we run in the EU, shared with your organisation, and available from any device. You choose when you create the workflow, and organisation storage may not yet be enabled for your organisation. Settings → Workflows on this device shows what this browser holds. The Your data section has the full picture.

Keyboard

The shell is tabbed, like a browser. ⌘T opens a tab, ⌘W closes one, ⌘1–⌘9 jump to a tab, Ctrl+Tab cycles. ⌘\ splits the view, ⌘[ and ⌘] step back and forward, ⌘B hides the sidebar. In the composer, Enter sends and Shift+Enter starts a new line; @ opens the picker for attaching a source or deliverable. There is no command palette.
