Terms of Service
Terms of Service
The terms governing the Felix Research websites and Analyst One. They incorporate the Privacy Policy and, for business customers, the Data Processing Agreement.
Felix Research Limited — websites and Analyst One
Version: 1.3 · Last updated: 2 October 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Felix Research websites and of Analyst One, a research and analysis tool provided by Felix Research Limited ("Felix Research", "Felix", "we", "us", "our"). Together, the websites and Analyst One are the "Service".
By accessing or using the websites or Analyst One, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not access or use them.
1. Who we are and what these Terms cover
Felix Research Limited is a company registered in England and Wales, company number 16434274, with its registered office at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, United Kingdom, WC2H 9JQ.
These Terms cover our public websites, including felixresearch.com and its subdomains, and the Analyst One application at one.felixresearch.com, including all accounts, workspaces and features within it.
Separate documents form part of your agreement with us: our Privacy Policy at felixresearch.com/privacy, and our Data Processing Agreement ("DPA") at one.felixresearch.com/dpa, which governs our processing of content you submit to Analyst One and names our sub-processors.
Where the DPA applies. The DPA is written for customers who are controllers of the personal data in the content they submit — organisations, and individuals using Analyst One in the course of business. For those customers it is incorporated into these Terms by reference, and if the DPA and these Terms conflict on the handling of your content, the DPA prevails. Where you use Analyst One purely as an individual for your own purposes, the Privacy Policy describes how we handle your data; the DPA's commitments about where your content goes, who processes it and how long it is kept are true for you too — they describe the same pipeline.
2. Purpose of the Service — this is not advice
Analyst One is provided for research, exploratory, and informational purposes only. It is not intended to provide legal, regulatory, financial, investment, tax, or other professional advice.
Analyst One does not provide financial advice, investment advice, or recommendations of any kind. Nothing generated by the tool constitutes regulated financial advice under applicable law. Outputs must not be relied upon as a substitute for advice from a qualified professional.
You are solely responsible for how you interpret and use any outputs generated by the tool.
3. AI-generated output
Analyst One uses large language models and other machine-learning systems to read your documents, extract information from them, and generate text, tables, charts, and reports.
Outputs can be wrong. AI systems can misread a document, invent facts that are not in your sources, misattribute figures, transpose numbers, and produce confident text that is simply incorrect. This is a known and unavoidable property of the technology. We do not warrant that any output is accurate, complete, or current.
Citations must be verified. Analyst One links claims back to the source material it drew them from. Those links are generated automatically and can be wrong: a citation may point to the wrong page, the wrong document, or to material that does not in fact support the claim. Before you rely on, publish, or act on any statement in an output, you must open the cited source and check it yourself.
Outputs are not reviewed by a human at Felix. No person at Felix Research checks your outputs before you see them.
Outputs are not deterministic. The same documents and the same question can produce different answers on different runs.
You are responsible for reliance. If you use an output — in your own work, in a document you send to someone else, or in a decision with financial consequences — you do so on your own judgement and at your own risk.
You must not present output from Analyst One to any third party as verified fact, as professional advice, or as the work of Felix Research.
4. Data handling, storage and retention
This section describes what happens to the documents and other content you put into Analyst One. It applies alongside the Privacy Policy and the DPA. Where those documents give more detail, they govern.
4.1 Your content
"Your Content" means the documents, files, links, text, questions, and other material you submit to Analyst One, and the outputs generated from that material.
You keep all rights in Your Content. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of Your Content to us.
You grant Felix Research a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, transmit, render, index, and process Your Content, and to disclose it to the sub-processors described below, solely to the extent needed to operate the Service and provide it to you. That licence lasts only as long as we hold the relevant content, and ends when it is deleted or expires under section 4.4. We do not use Your Content for any other purpose.
You confirm that you have the right to submit Your Content to the Service, and that doing so does not breach anyone else's rights, any confidentiality obligation you are under, or any law. We do not prohibit any lawful category of content, but the responsibility for what you upload is yours: if Your Content contains special category personal data, criminal offence data, or material subject to professional obligations such as legal privilege, you are responsible for ensuring you may lawfully submit it to us and to the sub-processors the DPA names, before you upload it.
4.2 Your content is processed on our servers and by third parties, not locally
When you add a document to Analyst One:
- the complete file is transmitted from your browser to a Felix-operated server hosted on Amazon Web Services in Ireland (region eu-west-1);
- it is written to that server's temporary storage and then copied to a Felix-controlled object storage bucket;
- individual page images are rendered from it, and those images are sent to a third-party GPU inference provider so that the text and layout can be recovered;
- the recovered text is sent to third-party AI model providers, through an AI gateway, for enrichment, entity extraction, embedding, and — when you ask a question or request a report — for generating the answer;
- where you provide a web link instead of a file, the URL and the page content retrieved from it are processed the same way, using a third-party web-retrieval provider.
Your documents are not processed only on your device. Some steps do run in your browser — rendering pages for display and loading the verified knowledge graph — but the substantive processing described above takes place on Felix infrastructure and on third-party infrastructure.
Requests to AI model providers carry a pseudonymous identifier for your account rather than your name or email address, together with your self-reported professional context where you have provided it.
4.3 Where the Service stores your content
Projects are stored on Felix infrastructure in the EU (AWS, Ireland) — a database dedicated to your organisation, object storage for source files and page renders, and vector storage for embeddings — so they are available across devices to members with the required project permissions. New projects are accessible only to their creator until access is granted. Server-stored content is held on the terms of this section and is covered by the DPA. Personal chats and deliverable drafts remain isolated to their owner.
Browser-only Private Workflows have been retired. Analyst One no longer opens, creates, exports or deletes them. Data left by that earlier implementation remains in your browser until you clear it through your browser's controls or the browser evicts it; the application does not migrate or erase it. Felix cannot restore content held only in your browser. Browser storage is not a backup. We do not currently publish a backup, restore or durability commitment for server-stored content either.
4.4 How long we keep it
| What | Where | How long |
|---|---|---|
| The uploaded file itself, and page images rendered from it (processing copies) | Felix object storage (AWS, eu-west-1) | Deleted automatically no more than 1 day after upload; page images deleted as soon as processed. In an organisation project, the file and page renders are also kept as part of your workspace — next row. |
| Organisation project workspaces — documents, extracted text, graphs, chats, deliverables | Felix infrastructure (AWS, eu-west-1) | Until you delete them, or the project or organisation is deleted. |
| Extracted document text and layout, held while processing runs | Felix cache (AWS, eu-west-1) | Automatically expires after 6 hours. |
| Conversion records for Office documents | Felix cache (AWS, eu-west-1) | Automatically expires after 24 hours. |
| Operational and usage records (see 4.5) | Felix database and audit archive (AWS, eu-west-1) | Retained while your account is open, and for no more than 24 months after your account closes or is deleted, after which they are deleted or fully anonymised. Audit copies expire after 365 days. |
| Service and security logs | AWS | 90 days, with an archive retained for 365 days. |
These periods are the maximum. Content is often deleted sooner.
4.5 Usage records are linked to your account
We keep operational records of your use of the Service: pages processed, reports generated, features used, and the resources each operation consumed. We use these to apply plan allowances, bill you correctly, monitor reliability, prevent abuse, and improve the product.
These records are not anonymous. They are tied to your account, and your account holds your name and email address. Records of document-processing operations currently also include the file name of the document processed — never the document's contents. We are working to remove the file name from these records; when your account is deleted, file names in your usage records are removed as part of the deletion.
We also collect product analytics and error diagnostics. These carry a stable pseudonymous identifier for your account rather than your name or email address. Under UK and EU data protection law that identifier is pseudonymised, not anonymised: it remains personal data because it can be linked back to you. Our product analytics are configured not to capture document content, chat text, or email addresses.
4.6 We do not train models on your content
We do not use Your Content to train, fine-tune, or improve any AI model, whether ours or a third party's, and we do not permit the sub-processors we send Your Content to for model inference to use it for training.
4.7 Sub-processors
We use third-party service providers ("sub-processors") to operate the Service. Some of them process Your Content: hosting and storage, GPU inference for text recovery, AI model providers reached through an AI gateway, and web retrieval. Others process only account or operational data: authentication, payments, email, analytics, and error monitoring.
The current list of sub-processors, what each one receives, and where each one processes it, is set out in the DPA at one.felixresearch.com/dpa. We may add or replace sub-processors as the Service changes; the DPA sets out how we tell you when we do.
4.8 International transfers
Felix's own infrastructure — servers, storage, cache, database, and logs — is located in Ireland (AWS eu-west-1).
Some of our sub-processors, including our AI gateway and the model providers it routes to, are established outside the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area, and Your Content may be processed outside the UK and EEA by them. Where that happens we rely on recognised transfer safeguards, such as the UK and EU–US Data Privacy Frameworks or standard contractual clauses. The DPA gives the detail, including the specific flows that carry document content.
4.9 Deleting and exporting your content
You can delete a server-stored project from within Analyst One when you have the required permissions. Data left by the retired browser-only Private Workflows is outside those controls and can be removed through your browser's controls. Where a deletion control is not yet available in the app for something we store, email us and we will delete it.
To ask us to delete your account, or to delete or export the data we hold about you on our servers, email privacy@felixresearch.com from your account's registered email address. We will acknowledge your request within 3 working days and complete it within 14 days, and in any event within one month. What we hold server-side, what deletion covers, and what we retain afterwards (for example accounting records we are required to keep by law) are described in the DPA and the Privacy Policy.
4.10 Privacy
How we handle personal data — including account information, website analytics, and early-access requests — is described in our Privacy Policy at felixresearch.com/privacy.
5. Your account
You need an account to use Analyst One. You must give accurate registration information and keep it up to date. You must be at least 18 years old to hold an account.
You are responsible for your account and for everything done through it. Keep your sign-in credentials secure, and tell us promptly at hello@felixresearch.com if you believe someone else has access.
Organisation accounts. Analyst One supports organisation accounts. Where your account belongs to an organisation on Analyst One, the organisation is our customer: it is responsible for the fees, including a seat for each of its members, its administrators manage membership and seats in Analyst One, and content you submit through an organisation account is submitted on the organisation's behalf. An administrator accepting these Terms accepts them for the organisation. Where you sign up individually, you are our customer. Projects are stored on our infrastructure and accessible according to explicit project permissions; organisation membership alone does not grant project access.
The Service is intended for professional and business use and is not directed at children.
6. Permitted use
You may use the Service for your own internal research and analysis; to explore documents and information you have the right to use; and in accordance with these Terms and all applicable laws.
You must not:
- copy, reproduce, redistribute, sell, sublicense, or otherwise reuse the Service, its code, or its underlying systems;
- copy or reuse outputs, interface elements, or content except where explicitly permitted through the website or the tool interface;
- attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code, models, prompts, or system logic;
- use the Service to build or train a competing product or service;
- upload content you do not have the right to submit, or content that is unlawful;
- attempt to circumvent plan allowances, usage limits, rate limits, or any other technical restriction;
- interfere with, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or to any other user's account or data.
All rights not expressly granted are reserved by Felix Research.
7. Intellectual property
7.1 What Felix owns
All intellectual property rights in Analyst One and our websites — including the software, code, models, prompts and system logic, design, architecture, workflows, documentation, and our marketing materials, brand assets and published content — are owned by or licensed to Felix Research. Use of the Service grants you only the limited rights these Terms expressly state. No other licence is granted or implied.
7.2 No competing use, no model training
Except with Felix Research's express prior authorisation in a written agreement signed by us, you must not — and must not permit, procure or assist anyone else to — use the Service, any part or output of it, its documentation, or our marketing or published materials to:
- build, develop, improve, market or operate a product or service that competes with Analyst One;
- train, fine-tune, evaluate, benchmark or otherwise develop any machine-learning or artificial-intelligence model or dataset;
- replicate the Service's prompts, retrieval behaviour, guardrails, output formats or system design;
- scrape, crawl or systematically extract content from the Service or our websites, whether manually or by automated means.
These restrictions apply to outputs generated by the Service notwithstanding section 7.3, and they survive termination of these Terms. The commitment is mutual: section 4.6 is our promise not to train models on Your Content — this section is yours not to train models on our Service.
7.3 What remains yours
Your Content remains yours. As between you and us, outputs generated from Your Content are yours to use for your own business and research purposes, subject to these Terms — including section 7.2 — and to the rights of any third party in the underlying source material.
Nothing in this section limits any right you have under applicable law that cannot be excluded by contract.
8. Plans, billing and cancellation
This section applies to Analyst One.
8.1 Plans and credits
Analyst One is priced per seat. Every member of a workspace holds a seat: a Personal seat on the self-service subscription, or a seat under an Organisation subscription agreed with Felix Research. The workspace pays for its seats. There is no free plan. Current prices, credit allowances and trial eligibility are shown before you enter Checkout. Organisation prices and per-seat allowances are agreed in your contract.
Processing uses credits. Each seat has its own monthly allowance, which its member uses first and which expires at the end of each billing month, including on an annual subscription. Unused allowance does not carry over and cannot be used by another member, except that when a member with a paid seat leaves, the allowance they have not used that month is added to the workspace's shared credits, where it is treated like purchased credits. Paying workspaces may buy one-off credit packs, which the workspace shares: members with paid seats use them after their own allowance, first come, first served; trial seats cannot. Purchased credits do not expire. After a subscription ends they are frozen, and become available again when the workspace subscribes. Refunds or disputes on a credit purchase remove the corresponding credits; a resulting purchased-credit debt is repaid from later purchases.
New processing is unavailable to a member without a current seat or without spendable credits, and to every member of a workspace without a subscription, except on a trial seat added by Felix Research. Existing work can still be read, edited manually and exported.
8.2 Payment and trials
Personal subscriptions are monthly or annual. Prices are inclusive of applicable tax. Checkout shows the currency and final amount before confirmation. UK prices are fixed in GBP; USD is the base currency for other pricing. Any conversion and its final amount are shown by Stripe.
An eligible standard trial lasts 7 days and includes 50 credits. It requires a saved card. Trials are limited to one per verified email and card. If a previously used card is detected after Checkout, the trial is cancelled without granting access; you can subscribe without a trial.
A Felix invitation offers 30 days and 300 credits. The invitation says whether a card is required. A trial without a saved card cancels at its end unless you add a payment method. Unused trial credits expire; successful conversion starts a fresh paid allowance. Starting a subscription early discards remaining trial credits and charges the selected subscription price, which you must confirm first.
When an administrator invites someone into a workspace, that person receives a trial seat of 30 days with 300 credits, unless they have already had an invite trial; then they join on a paid seat if the workspace can be charged at that time, and otherwise on a lapsed seat until an administrator keeps it. Each person may have one invite trial, whether from a workspace invitation or a Felix invitation, identified by verified email. An invited trial seat becomes a paid seat, charged to the workspace pro rata for the rest of the billing period, at the end of its trial unless an administrator removes the member before then; we remind administrators during the three days before it ends. This happens only if the workspace then has an active subscription that is not set to end and whose payments are up to date; otherwise the seat lapses until an administrator keeps it. Trial seats added by Felix Research end at their trial end unless an administrator chooses to keep them, which is charged in the same way.
A card-backed trial converts automatically to the subscription selected in Checkout unless you cancel before the displayed trial end. We send a reminder during the three days before that end, stating the date, subscription amount and how to cancel. An extension changes the reminder date. A no-card trial receives an expiry reminder instead of a notice of an automatic charge.
You authorise us and our payment processor to charge the subscription you confirm, each renewal, any one-off credit pack you confirm, any seats an administrator adds or keeps, and any invited trial seat that becomes a paid seat as described above. If a payment fails, we may retry it and suspend processing until payment succeeds. You can recover payment through Manage billing.
8.3 Renewal
Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each term at the price then in force, until cancelled. Monthly credits still reset each billing month on an annual term.
8.4 Changing seats and plan
Administrators can add seats at any time; added seats are charged immediately, pro rata for the rest of the billing period, and each new seat receives credits for the rest of the billing month. Fewer seats take effect at the next renewal, without a refund, and administrators can reduce seats to the number of members at any time. When a member leaves, their paid seat stays available until shortly before the next renewal: anyone who joins before then takes it at no extra charge and uses the shared credits until their own allowance starts the following billing month. A seat still empty at that point is removed and no longer charged; someone joining after the removal is charged for a new seat in the usual way. Contact Felix Research to change plan or billing interval or to agree Organisation terms.
8.5 Price changes
We may change our prices. Any change to the price of your plan takes effect at your next renewal, not during a term you have already paid for, and we will tell you at least 30 days before it takes effect.
8.6 Cancellation and refunds
You may cancel through Manage billing at any time. During a trial, cancellation ends the trial at its displayed end without a conversion charge. During a paid term, cancellation takes effect at the end of that term; you keep subscription access until that date and are not charged again.
Fees already paid are not refundable, and we do not refund the unused remainder of a term — whether you cancel, downgrade, stop using the Service, or we suspend or terminate your access for breach — except where section 9 or section 12 says otherwise, or where the law requires.
If you are a consumer. Analyst One is intended for business and professional use. If you nonetheless purchase as a consumer, you have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days of purchase. By starting your paid plan immediately you request that we supply the Service during the cancellation period; if you then cancel within the 14 days, we will refund what you paid less a proportionate amount for the period you had access. Nothing in this section removes any right you have that cannot be excluded by law.
9. Availability and changes to the Service
We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not offer a service level agreement or an uptime commitment on any current plan.
Felix Research may update, modify, or suspend the Service; introduce or retire features; and change or withdraw plans, allowances, or free access.
Where a change materially reduces what you have paid for during a term you have already paid for, we will tell you, and you may cancel the affected plan and receive a pro-rata refund of the unused remainder of your term.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- the Service is provided "as is" and "as available";
- Felix Research makes no warranties regarding accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose, and in particular makes no warranty about the accuracy or reliability of AI-generated output or of the citations attached to it;
- Felix Research will not be liable for any loss arising from reliance on outputs, from system downtime, from loss of content stored in your browser, or from your use of the Service;
- Felix Research will not be liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of business, or loss of anticipated savings;
- Felix Research's total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the Service and these Terms, however arising, is limited to the greater of the fees you paid to us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim and £100.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time, and may cancel a paid plan under section 8.6.
Felix Research may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or misuse the Service. Where reasonable, we will warn you first and give you a chance to put things right.
On termination: your right to use the Service ends immediately; content stored in your browser remains there until you remove it; content and records we hold are dealt with under sections 4.4 and 4.9; and sections that by their nature should survive — including intellectual property, limitation of liability, and governing law — continue to apply.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and we will tell you about material changes through the website or the tool interface.
Continued use after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance. If you do not accept a change, you must stop using the Service and may cancel under section 8.6 — and where a material change to these Terms reduces what you have paid for during a term you have already paid for, you may cancel the affected plan and receive a pro-rata refund of the unused remainder of your term.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
